Pilatus Aircraft
Based on customer feedback from over 50,000 hours of fleet operations, Pilatus has incorporated numerous new features into Super Versatile Jets which come off the production line from this year onward. As it is Pilatus‘ core philosophy to continuously improve and provide support over the life of the aircraft, many of these new features can be retrofitted in earlier serial number PC-24s.
Boeing P-8A Poseidon
The German Ministry of Defense today signed a letter of offer and acceptance for five Boeing P-8A Poseidon aircraft under the U.S. government’s Foreign Military Sales (FMS) process. With this order, Germany becomes the eighth customer of the multimission maritime surveillance aircraft, joining the United States, Australia, India, the United Kingdom, Norway, Korea and New Zealand.
Embraer E195-E2
Helvetic Airways of Switzerland received the first of four new E195-E2 aircraft at Embraer’s facility in São José dos Campos. Helvetic will receive three further E195-E2s by the end of next month, July 2021.
Beechcraft 300 Special Missions / Textron Aviation
Textron Aviation celebrates its leadership of the twin-engine turboprop segment by announcing a Beechcraft King Air 300, delivered in 1987 and in service in the U.S. Army fleet of aircraft since 2009, has surpassed a significant 50,000 flight hours milestone.
Sonaca Aircraft
At the request of Stemme Belgium (in collaboration with Stratos Solution), Sonaca Aircraft has fitted a Sonaca 200 with a payload. Equipped with a Lidar and an RGB camera, the aircraft will be used (for example) for airborne data collection and maritime and border surveillance missions.
Airbus Helicopters H145
SAF Group will be operating three more five-bladed H145s for emergency medical services (EMS) in France. These three aircraft will be based in Grenoble, Valence, and Montpellier. They will complement the three H145s already ordered by SAF in 2018 and 2020, the first of which was delivered recently and will be deployed for EMS missions in Belgium.
Leonardo announced today that building work will shortly commence on a new c.£30 million single-site logistics facility at Leonardo’s helicopter site in Yeovil. The ground-breaking facility, spanning an area of nearly 20,000 m2, the equivalent of 2.7 football pitches, is scheduled to be completed in Q4 2022. The project sees the consolidation of eight existing warehouses into one all-encompassing logistics hub.
Airbus
Airbus has decided to concentrate its efforts for metallic hydrogen tanks in a complementary setup by creating Zero-Emission Development Centres (ZEDC) at its sites in Bremen (Germany) and in Nantes (France).
Boeing
Boeing and Alaska Airlines announced they are partnering on the latest Boeing ecoDemonstrator program and will flight test about 20 technologies on a new 737-9 to enhance the safety and sustainability of air travel.
Leonardo Company TH-73A
At a ceremony on its Philadelphia campus and under the backdrop of the Stars and Stripes, Leonardo officially delivered the first TH-73A training helicopter to the U.S. Navy earlier today.
Rolls Royce
Rolls-Royce has started testing the first elements of the most powerful hybrid-electric aero power and propulsion system in aerospace at a newly-renovated testbed. The tests are part of the 2.5 megawatt (MW) Power Generation System 1 (PGS1) demonstrator programme, for future regional aircraft.
Embraer
Eve Urban Air Mobility Solutions (Eve) and Halo today announced a partnership focused on developing Urban Air Mobility (UAM) products and services in the United States and the United Kingdom. This partnership includes an order for 200 of Eve’s electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Deliveries are expected to start in 2026.
