On behalf of the 61,000 pilots of the Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), I am writing to urge you to take the necessary steps to immediately end the shutdown of government agencies that is adversely affecting the safety, security and efficiency of our national airspace system.
Bombardier
Bombardier celebrated the entry-into-service of its award-winning Global 7500 business jet, during a special event held at its recently renamed Laurent Beaudoin Completion Centre, in presence of selected customers, suppliers and representatives from the industry.
Global 6000 / Bombardier
Bombardier is pleased to announce the sale of four Global 6000 business jets to an undisclosed customer. This transaction is valued at $310 million U.S., according to current list prices and including a contract for services.
MAEL
The engineering arm of collapsed airline Monarch has collapsed with the loss of 450 jobs. Monarch Aircraft Engineering Limited (MAEL), based at London Luton Airport, is «unsustainable in its present form», administrators KPMG, said. / This news can be read in www.bbc.com.
Embraer
Embraer and Republic Airways, the world’s largest E-Jet operator, have signed a contract for a firm order of 100 E175 jets. This agreement was announced as a Letter of Intent (LoI) at the Farnborough Airshow, in July.
Approximately 5.500 new employees will be cleared for takeoff with a career in Lufthansa Group this year – in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium alone, the home markets of the aviation group.
Boeing will upgrade all 17 of Spain’s CH-47D Chinook helicopters to the F-model configuration, adding features such as the digital automatic flight control system, common avionics architecture system and advanced cargo handling to align that country’s fleet with those of other nations.

Airbus
Airbus has delivered the 400th A320 Family aircraft from its Final Assembly Line Asia (FALA) in Tianjin, China. The A320neo was delivered to national flag carrier Air China, based in Beijing. Powered by Pratt & Whitney GTF latest generation engines, the aircraft features a comfortable two-class cabin layout with 158 seats: 8 business and 150 economy.
