Boeing partners with Aerion to accelerate supersonic travel
Boeing today announced a partnership with Aerion, a Reno, Nev.-based company pioneering next-generation supersonic aircraft. As part of the agreement, Boeing made a significant investment in Aerion to accelerate technology development and aircraft design, and unlock supersonic air travel for new markets. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Embraer and SkyWest sign contract for nine E175 Jets
Embraer and SkyWest, Inc. have signed a firm order for nine E175 jets, with deliveries expected to begin in 2019. The order has a value of USD 422 million, based on current list prices, and was already included in Embraer’s 2018 fourth-quarter backlog. SkyWest Airlines will operate all nine E175s, featuring a 76-seat configuration.
TAP grew more than 10 percent in 2018 and carried about 16 million passengers
The routes that contributed more to this significant growth were the European ones (excluding Portugal), in which TAP transported 932 thousand passengers more than in 2017, equivalent to over 10.7 percent.

Boeing receives $2.4 billion P-8A Poseidon contract from U.S. Navy
The U.S. Navy has awarded Boeing a $2.4 billion production contract for the next 19 P-8A Poseidon aircraft. The contract includes 10 aircraft to add to the current inventory of P-8As in the U.S. Navy fleet, all five jets currently under contract for Norway and the four aircraft remaining for the existing United Kingdom contract, bringing the total United Kingdom acquisition to nine aircraft.
