Today, Latvian airline airBaltic announced that it will equip its entire Airbus A220-300 fleet with SpaceX’s Starlink internet connectivity system. Every passenger will benefit from complimentary, in-flight high-speed internet access during all airBaltic flights without hassles or login pages. From the moment passengers walk onto the plane, they’ll have access to the internet.





Market-leading turboprop manufacturer ATR and Sky express, a fast growing airline in Greece, has signed a deal to acquire six ATR 72-600 aircraft, the first of which was delivered on June 30. This marks an important step in the airline’s fleet development plan which will see the further five ATR 72-600 joining its fleet over the next 12 months.


Europe’s pilot community is joining a coalition of aviation and environmental organisations, calling for a ramp-up of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAFs) as a scalable, long-term solution to decarbonise aviation. Europe’s environmental ambitions have taken a concrete shape under the EU Green Deal but cutting greenhouse gas emissions remains a major challenge. Yet, pilots see an opportunity for the EU to be an early leader in producing truly sustainable SAFs and untapping their full potential.
Although some uncertainty exists about the exact timeline for air traffic recovery in the short term, global forecasts are clear: tomorrow’s air traffic will be increasingly dense. In fact, this outlook raises vital questions about the aviation industry’s future environmental footprint. As a result, air traffic management (ATM) is becoming an increasingly important—and complex—focus area.
